Red Flag Warning for much of Kansas on a blustery Tuesday

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a Red Flag Warning for extreme grassland fire danger, in effect through 9:00 p.m. Tuesday for much of Western & Central Kansas.

Winds are expected to gust up to 45 miles per hour from the southwest.

Relative humidity is as low as 23%.

Any ignitions will have the potential to become wildfires quickly, and spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

This Red Flag Warning does include Reno & Kingman counties to the west of the Wichita area.
