The City of Wichita continues with repairs on the leaks in a 42-inch finished water pipe located between the Hess pump station at 1601 Museum Blvd and the current water treatment facility downtown. Treatment and delivery of water is normal and customers shouldn't experience any service impacts from the leaks.

Construction of the bypass for the pipe repair is complete. Repair work on the second leak is progressing; completion of that repair is expected today. Repair work on the third leak will begin after a gas line is relocated, and is expected to move forward on Wednesday, April 6.

Safe water pressure is being maintained as crews continue to make repairs. The pipe with the leak is one of three that supplies treated water to the Hess Pump Station.

Public Works and Utilities became aware of a leak 12 days ago, and crews are working around the clock monitoring the leak and water pressure.
