Resident injured during a Salina home invasion

One person was injured during a home invasion. It happened around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night near Penn and Elm in north Salina.

Police say a resident answered the door and an armed person wearing a masked entered the home demanding money.

A second resident then rushed the armed intruder, and a second intruder, armed with a butcher knife also entered the home and allegedly began swinging the blade, before they left the home.

One person received cuts to their head and shoulder.  Police said that one of the suspects is known to the residents.

The investigation is ongoing.
