Gas prices have jumped in Wichita to the highest in more than a decade. Prices climbed 30-cents to an average of $3.00 a gallon, which is higher than the state average by about 14-cents. A year ago, Kansans were paying $2.73 a gallon.
Market experts say the price is not going down anytime soon. There may be days you could find gas for $3.75, and other days when the prices could go as high as $4.25 to $4.50 a gallon.
But the analysts say there's not just one factor that's determining the price. You also need to take into consideration the unpredictable, including Russia and Ukraine, the Biden Administration's energy policies, summer blends, and competition.
