A Newton woman is dead after a crash on I-135 two miles south of Newton.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash happened at 1:42 p.m. Saturday at mile marker 28.4, near the SE 36th Street exit. The woman, Konner Lynne Hayes, 29, was driving northbound when she crossed the median and hit a semi-truck. Hayes was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.
The 44-year-old driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
