Nearly 600 refugees from Afghanistan, Syria and other countries received the donation from volunteers with the First Presbyterian Church in Wichita. Children ages five and older had the opportunity to get COVID-19 vaccines as well.

Over 115 people put in 500 volunteer hours into the event. The backpacks and supplies were worth nearly $15 thousand.
