It was a speedy Sedgwick County Commission meeting Wednesday morning.

Besides appointments, there was a brief discussion about the proposed state mental health hospital that will be built in Sedgwick County.

Kevin Stamper, Assistant County Counselor, announced that since the project will be paid for with state Spark (ARPA) funds and a state grant, the county must follow federal procurement guidelines.

Contractors interested in working on the project must go through the official procurement process on the county web site and may not contact county officials directly.

The county will provide a “Frequently asked questions” document on their web site within the week.
