The Emergency Management office announced Wednesday that "Civic Ready Alerts" is now live.

Currently, the service only applies to the cities of Wichita and Mount Hope, but more cities will be added in the near-future. You can receive community bulletins, emergency alerts and severe weather warnings from Emergency Management and 911.

County officials remind you this is a free, opt-in service and messages will be sent only to the people who provide an email, phone and location information.

You can sign up on the county's Civic Ready Alerts page. We've provided a link here.
