Sedgwick County officials are asking residents, business owners and farmers affected by recent flooding to report their damages through the newly launched Public Damage Reporting Survey. The State of Kansas created this dedicated reporting form to help Sedgwick and Butler Counties track the location and extent of storm damage and the resources needed to recover.

According to a press release, based on the information submitted in the survey, Sedgwick and Butler Counties might qualify for low-interest loans from the Small Business Administration to those in the affected areas. They do emphasize that this assistance is a loan and must be repaid, and that FEMA will not provide direct financial aid.

Residents with extensive flood damage are encouraged to contact the American Red Cross to see if they qualify for disaster relief funds. More flood resources are available on the Sdegwick County website.
