No weekly meeting for the Sedgwick County Commission Wednesday. Commission chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News commissioners are staying busy. The commission has been hearing spending proposals from the county's 46 departments the past two weeks, as it writes a budget for next year. Baty says there is pressure to maintain services while holding down taxes.
Baty says the county government is only responsible for 20% of the local property tax. Baty says "we have the lowest mill levy in 27 years".
Baty commented during his weekly visit with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
