The Sedgwick County Commission will approve its legislative platform at Wednesday's weekly meeting. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News at the "top of the list" is the tag office, which is a state office, run by the Sedgwick County Treasurer. Fees pay for the operation, and those fees haven't risen for many years. Baty says county property taxes are used to make up the state fee shortfalls. Baty says for a $30 title, the state takes $29.30.

At Wednesday's meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission will also discuss rural intersections. Some of these crossings have been the scenes of serious accidents. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News urban growth means more vehicles using the roads, especially in the western part of the county. Baty says there are some "practicle things"  the county do to cut down on accidents at those intersections, without constructing loights and roundabouts.

Ryan Baty commented during his weekly appearance on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
