Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Laura Rainwater tells KNSS News Sedgwick County Commissioners met this week to canvass the August 5th primary election. Rainwater says the board looks at provisional and challenged ballots. The board approved 94 out of 165 challenged ballots.
Rainwater says those ballots are then tabulated, producing the final vote count.
Rainwater says only 27% of the registered voters in the county were eligible to vote. She puts turnout at 6.89 percent.
The next election is the general election on November 4th.
