The Sedgwick County Commission voted to extend the pause on data center applications.
The county said it needed more time to receive public comments, complete its study on data center development and establish regulations in zoning code.
On January 14, the county suspended applications for 90 days to study how the centers would impact utilities and nearby property values.
Commissioner Stephanie Wise stressed the importance of establishing good policy but also didn’t want to drag out the process either.
The pause was extended until June 11.
