Permeant director named for Sedgwick County Dept. of Corrections

Steven Stonehouse has been named as the new permanent director for the Sedgwick County Department of Corrections.

Stonehouse has served with the department for 24-years and as a deputy director for the department since 2013.

He says that along with implementing recommendations put forth by the Cedric Lofton task force, he also wants to improve employment within the department.  "We'll continue to work on getting our message out, about what a great place Sedgwick County is to work," Stonehouse said.

County Commissioners have already approved a contract with a new medical provider to have 24-hour nursing care and expand mental health services at JIAC.
