For the 6th year in a row, Sedgwick County received a clean audit of their financial operations.
Initial work on the report started in December, however the bulk of the data was collected between February and May. In all, over 1000 hours of work was completed on the report.
The clean audit opinion offered no findings or material weaknesses, with strong internal controls in place.
Hope Hernandez, the county's Accounting Director, said each year the auditors focus on different areas of the county and keep the accounting team on their toes.
Sedgwick County is one of two counties in the state with a AAA credit rating.
