Sedgwick County and its regional partners have approved their 2025 joint legislative platform.

It will focus on economic development, housing and infrastructure. The homeless issue is very important for the group, along with rail expansion and water policies.

Chairman Ryan Baty says while each organization has different interests, they all want to convey a unified voice.

The county partners with the city of Wichita, the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Economic Area Partnership of South Central Kansas and Wichita State.

Also at Wednesday’s meeting, the commission selected their leadership for 2025. Current Chairman Ryan Baty was re-elected for a second term, while past Chairman Pete Meitzner was selected as Chair Pro-Tem.
