INTRUST Bank Arena hosted 87 performances in 2019, which were attended by over 348 thousand people. The venue was poised for a big year in 2020, their 10-year anniversary. Then the pandemic hit...

Just 140 thousand people attended 44 performances in 2020, most of those prior to March when events came to a halt. As a result, the arena lost nearly $2.17 million in 2020 and 2021 combined. Shuttered venue operating grants from the federal government helped to pay the bills and make key upgrades.

Last year with restrictions lifted, the arena hosted 84 performances and nearly 280 thousand people attended, netting a $1.8 million profit.

AJ Boleski, General Manager of the arena says times were tough then but the arena is back.

Future event highlights include another preseason NHL game in September and ice-skating championships in January. A little farther down the road in March 2025, the NCAA Men's basketball tournament will return.
