The Cowley County Sheriff's Office has confirmed one person is dead following a shooting east of Arkansas City.
Deputies responded to a report of gunshots in an area near Cowley County Fishing Lake on Wednesday. One person was found dead.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is assisting with the investigation. Additional information was not immediately available.
