Some improvement in local COVID numbers

We're seeing some improvement in the local COVID pandemic numbers. Sedgwick County Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the county's testing positivity rate is now 7 percent. Meitzner says the rate has been down several days and he's hoping to see an impact on hospitalization rates soon. The number of virus patients in Wichita hospitals went from 145 to 177 in recent days and the number in intensive care dropped from 56 to 53. He says 97 percent of those are unvaccinated.
