Most electrical customers have power again in Cowley County after late afternoon storms on the 4th.
Around 5:45 p.m., 70 mph winds were measured 2 miles north of Arkansas City, snapping 11 power poles.
Winfield City Manager Taggart Wall told our partners at 12 News the storms originally knocked out power to between 4500 and 8000 customers there.
Hail nearly to the size of tennis balls was reported around 4:30 p.m., 2 miles east-northeast of Argonia in Sumner County. Tree limbs were downed in Caldwell and ping-pong ball sized hail was reported too.
Storms earlier in the morning downed power lines near Goessel in Marion County and power was out in the city of Marion. A carport was also damaged in Newton.
