
Thunderstorms with hail rumbled across southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma late Tuesday into early Wednesday. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Kingman, Reno, and northwest Sedgwick County just after 11:20 p.m. Thursday night. Half-inch hail was reported at Norwich, Valley Center, and Andale; with pea-sized hail reported in west Wichita. The warning was allowed to expire just after midnight.
A couple of hours later the National Weather Service received a report from the public of brief penny sized hail northwest of Wellington in Sumner County. Sedgwick and Sumner Counties along with Russell, Lincoln, Barton, Ellsworth, Saline, Rice, McPherson, Reno, Harvey, Kingman, and Harper will be under a Wind Advisory from 9 a.m. Wednesday until 8 p.m. with north winds expected to be 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45.
