The Wichita City Council approved a naming rights agreement for the Stryker Sports Complex in the northeast part of the city.

The five-year, $625 thousand agreement for the Scheels Stryker Sports Complex will highlight safety by installing backstop netting at each of the fields there. Additional space will be constructed in the press box, along with new signage at the complex's entrance.

In related news, the council approved $225 thousand in improvements for athletic courts around town. The parks that will see some changes in 2023 are Buffalo, Sycamore and McAdams.

The council also gave the green light for playground improvements. The $400 thousand project will include O.J. Watson Park, Pracht wetlands park and other locations.
