Police are investigating a shooting that fatally injured 34-year-old Preston Spencer of Wichita, and left five women hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

At 12:38 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a shooting call at the Enigma Club & Lounge, south of 3rd & Mosley in Old Town. Officers located multiple victims.

Spencer had been shot in the torso; he died from his injuries.

The five other gunshot victims were all women, ages 22, 24, 24, 28, and 40; most of the women received gunshot wounds to their legs, and one woman suffered wounds to her arm and lower back. The female victims are expected to survive.

The investigation revealed a male suspect got into a physical disturbance earlier inside the club and was made to leave. The suspect returned a short time later and fired multiple rounds with a semi-automatic handgun through front doors and windows into the club from the outside, striking the victims.

Police have identified the supsect as Keshawn Dawson, a man in his early 20s. He left the scene in a dark vehicle, which was driven by another person.

Dawson is currently wanted for a pair of felony warrants through Sedgwick County, one of which was for a gun charge; Dawson was prohibited from having a firearm in his possession.

Anyone who knows Dawson's whereabouts is asked to contact the Wichita Police Department or Crime Stoppers; police ask that you do not attempt to contact Dawson nor apprehend him on your own.
