The city of Wichita will be conducting further tests on a 42' pipe that failed, and led to a boil water advisory last week.
Director of Public Works and Utility's, Alan King says the pipe has been replace, backfilled and the line disinfected, but it has not been put back into use.
The repaired section of pipe still needs to be pressure tested to make sure its able to hold up. The city is also working to see how the section of pipe that was installed in 1969 failed.
King said specialized equipment would be brought in to examine the pipe's wire cage. If more damage is found, the city will replace the line. He added that he hopes to have test results in the next week or two.
