The 53rd Wichita River Festival is underway

The 53rd annual Wichita River Festival is underway, featuring nine days of music, food, and family fun.

Opening Day events include food, a parade, concerts, and fireworks.

Friday's events include:
Grand Opening Ceremony: 11:30 a.m.
ESPN Sports Court: 11 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Wagonmasters River Tours: 5 – 8 p.m.
River Vista Paddle Boats: 5–8 p.m.
Photography Contest: All week
Community Connect – Button Benefits: All week
Bike Valet: 5–11 p.m.
The Phoenix Lounge: 5 p.m.- 11 p.m.
Weee Entertainment Carnival: 6-11 p.m.
Kids Corner & Inflatables: 5 a.m.-10 p.m.
Hot Air Balloons Launch & Glow: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Sundown Parade: 6:30-8 p.m.
Half Priced Tickets Wichita Wind Surge: 7-10 p.m.
Marcy Playground: 7:30–9 p.m.
Everclear: 9–10:30 p.m.
Textron Aviation Opening Night Fireworks: 10:45 p.m.

Riverfest buttons are $20 for adults, and $10 for children ages 6 to 12. Buttons may be purchased at QuikTrip locations, or on-site at Riverfest Button Boxes.

Riverfest is ticketless and cashless. Food may be purchased directly from food vendors with credit or debit cards only. Business lunch hours are free without a button Monday–Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Riverfest says it's a mechanism to build community pride, to bring people together, and to focus attention on the natural resources of the Arkansas River.
