The Sedgwick County Commission will finalize its budget for 2024 at Wednesday's meeting. Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News it's been "a really open and transparent process", "we've had a lot of feedback" from groups and individuals.
Meitzner says the county's property tax levy will not increase, and he's open to a lowering of that rate.
Of the $546 million spending plan, Metizner says only about $20 million is discretionary spending.
Meitzner commented during his weekly appearance with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
