The Ford County Sheriff's office in southwest Kansas confirms that three people died and one is hospitalized after an explosion in the town of Bucklin.
It occurred before 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of W. Center Street.
When emergency crews arrived, they found three people dead inside the building but a fourth person survived and was taken to the hospital.
Officials say the building where the explosion took place was being remodeled.
The identities of the people have not been released. The Kansas State Fire Marshal Office is investigating.
