A crash on the Kansas Turnpike Saturday night south of Wichita injured three people.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a truck and SUV were stopped in the right lane of traffic because of an accident ahead of them. A semi-trailer traveling north struck the truck, causing it to hit the SUV. The semi-trailer then struck the median barrier wall and the SUV came to rest against the right side of the semi’s axles. The truck ended up in the ditch.
The semi driver, a 58-year-old man from Hutchinson, was uninjured. The driver of the truck, a 46-year-old man from Olathe and a passenger, a 20-year-old Eudora man, were transported to Wesley Hospital for possible injuries.
The SUV driver, a 26-year-old Wichita man, also suffered a possible injury but there's no record by the KHP if that person was taken to a hospital.
