The pandemic and recent nasty weather have had an impact on local blood donations. Jan Hale of the American Red Cross tells KNSS News there is an urgent need for type O blood. She says many blood drives have been cancelled recently because of bad weather and the pandemic.
She assures that donating blood is safe; that staff and donors' temperatures are taken, hand sanitizer is used, and everyone must wear a mask.
You must make an appointment to donate blood. Go to redcrossblood.org or download the red cross donation app from your app store.
