At Wednesday's Sedgwick County Commission meeting, the board received an update about the continued growth at WSU Tech.
Dr. Sheree Utash says enrollment currently stands at 6,960 students. Enrollment in their professional pilots’ program is up nearly 130% while their alternative fuels program is up nearly 70%.
She says a student who begins taking classes at WSU Tech as a high school sophomore or junior can graduate from both at nearly the same time and are at a major advantage when entering the work force. She says they have no student loan debt and can buy a home or car.
Facilities are growing too with expansion underway at the National Center for Aviation Training and the Biomedical campus in the downtown.
