Police have identified 54-year-old Michelle Truong of Wichita as the victim of a fatal accident Tuesday night.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of Pawnee & Hillside for an injury accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Officers learned that Truong was involved in a minor traffic accident just east of the intersection.
As Truong exited her vehicle to contact the other driver and exchange insurance information, she was struck by another vehicle as she crossed to the opposite side of the street.
Truong was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver who struck her remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
This is Wichita's sixth traffic fatality involving a pedestrian in 2021, and the 11th overall fatal accident in 11 weeks so far this year.
