Two bridge construction projects will cause traffic disruptions on I-135 in the Wichita area this weekend.
Southbound I-135 will close between 9th Street and Lincoln from 7 p.m. Friday until about 3 p.m. Saturday while crews set bridge girders. Several ramps will also be closed, including entrances from 9th Street, 1st/2nd Street and westbound U.S. 54.
In north Sedgwick County, bridge work will also close I-135 near 101st Street from Friday evening through early Monday morning. Drivers will be directed off at the 101st Street exit and back onto the interstate using the entrance ramp.
KDOT is urging drivers to use alternate routes, allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs.
