A long-delayed vision is finally coming to life as ground-breaking took place for the $113 million Wichita Ballpark District.
Developers EPC Real Estate Group and Murfin Inc. will start construction on the Wichita Tribute Hotel, a seven-story, 160-room boutique hotel under the Marriott Bonvoy flag.
The project sits in the historic Delano district next to the baseball stadium, Equity Bank Park.
The groundbreaking marks a major turning point for the mixed-use development, which has faced years of setbacks, stalls, and ownership changes.
The hotel will rise on the east side of McLean Boulevard. Plans for the property include a river-view lobby, dedicated meeting space, and a rooftop restaurant and cocktail lounge.
Construction on the hotel is slated to take a year-and-a-half to complete, with developers targeting a tentative opening in early 2028.
