The city of Wichita's retirement system is in great shape.
City Manager Robert Layton said that at Tuesday morning's Wichita City Council meeting. He adds the system is doing much better than the state of Kansas', and thanked city staff for their work.
The report stated that the actuarial value of assets funded ratio increased for the Wichita Employees Retirement from 91% to 93% and increased for Police and Fire from 92% to 94%.
In other business, the council approved a 3-year, $150 thousand contract with Qwally Systems to develop a web platform and app that will assist local businesses with processes like licensing and registration. Mobile, Alabama and Kansas City, Missouri use the same system.
Finally, the Parks department will receive $400 thousand to fix the Swanson Footbridge and the patio at the Edgemoor Rec center.
