At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will consider selling naming rights for Riverfront Stadium to Equity Bank. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News how much money is involved: $2.2 million over 15 years.
The Council will consider matching state funds for medical treatment for people living in a polluted area near 29th and Grove. Wu says the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County will be asked to help by chipping in $125,000 each, to be matched by the State of Kansas.
Mayor Wu is part of a team that will go to Topeka this week to lobby the Kansas Legislature. The team is made up of representatives from the City, County, Greater Wichita Partnership, Wichita State University, and the Wichita Chamber of Commerce. Areas of concern include crime, infrastructure, water, as well as housing.
Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor ... on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
