At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will discuss the process of putting the Crown Uptown Dinner Theater building on the Wichita Register of Historic Places. The owner has talked about demolishing the building after failing to get permission to expand it. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News,
"this has never been done before." Mayor Wu has questions about setting a precedent because, "property rights are important in our community".."
Also at Tuesday's meeting, the Council will discuss buying a building at 332 north Riverview that houses police department property. The plan is to upgrade the building and parking lot at a cost of one million dollars.
