Wichita enters Phase 4 of new downtown paid parking plan

Parking plan phase 4
City of Wichita

The City of Wichita's new paid parking plan is beginning phase 4 this week. Installation of the paid parking signage began this week and is expected to be completed by the end of November. Phase 4 addresses the remaining streets in the downtown area where paid parking has not been implemented.

Paid parking is enforced Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $1 per hour, $5 per day in public parking lots, or $10 per day in public parking structures. Monthly rates can be acquired depending on availability. Surge pricing, referred to in the plan as "Event Parking," can increase the hours of operation and can increase parking fees after a petition is submitted to the City by the event organizer. Event organizers have to disclose Event Parking fee and hour increases.

Parking downtown can be paid via app with the ParkMobile or PayByPhone app. Both apps require either Apple Pay or Google Pay accounts to operate. For more information visit ParkWichita.com.
