The votes are in to determine the winner of the 2023, Red Cross, Battle of the Badges.
For the fifth year in a row, the Wichita Fire Department was declared the winner in a close race that was determined by just three votes.
Fire Captain Chris Fleming says even though it is a competition, they are all working for the same goal. "All the members of the committee are really good friends anyway," Fleming said. "We know, as first responders the need for blood products never goes away," he added.
Over 1,200 donations were collected during the course of the Battle of the Badges.
