Wichita police officers recovered nine firearms, including a stolen handgun, after responding to “a large teen party” at a short-term rental property late Monday night.
After 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a fight in the 11300 block of W. Bekemeyer, to the northeast of Central & 119th Street West; the caller reported that multiple people were armed, and about 55 people were at the party.
When officers arrived, most people were leaving; three minors were arrested for possession or consumption of alcohol.
The homeowner, who did not know about the party, arrived later and made those who had organized the party leave.
During a police search of the home, officers found a gun that had been reported stolen during a burglary in February.
