A fire that destroyed house in Wichita over the weekend, was caused by illegal fireworks. The fire happened around 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the 2400 block of east Shadybrook, west of 21st and Hillside.

The family was home at the time of the blaze, but were able to get out safely. There were no injuries.
Investigators determined that there were some neighborhood children shooting illegal fireworks, which included roman candles, which are illegal within the city of Wichita because they are labeled ‘shooting flaming balls.'”
The house has been determined to be a total loss.
The fire is still under investigation. It's not known know if any charges will be filed against the juveniles who started the fire.
