Wichita journalist Bill Roy died Sunday from ALS

Long-time broadcaster and Editor of the Wichita Business Journal Bill Roy has died.

Wichita journalist Bill Roy died Sunday from ALS

The Business Journal confirms that the Journal's editor since 2003 died Sunday morning at his home of complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He was 61. The 37-year journalist was diagnosed with ALS in the fall of 2019.

Roy was inducted into the Kansas Press Association Hall of Fame in 2022. A Kansas State University graduate, Roy worked for KFDI, The Wichita Eagle, and KWCH TV before being hired as managing editor, and reaching editor soon after. For over 20 years Bill updated business news with the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.

Roy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gretchen, and their twin daughters Shea and Sydney. Funeral services are pending.
