On Thursday, September 21st at 11:25 p.m., Wichita police were dispatched to the area of 800 S. Mission for the report of a shooting to the northeast of Lincoln & Woodlawn.
A 48-year-old woman was shot and killed, and a 22-year-old woman received critical injuries.
A 30-year-old man from Wichita was identified as the alleged shooter; he was apprehended following a brief standoff at 600 S. Mission, to the southeast of Kellogg & Woodlawn.
This case was presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney and formal charges have been filed.
The suspect has been charged with 1st degree murder, attempted 1st degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, and criminal possession of a firearm by felon.
