A man was killed in a traffic accident in N. Wichita; it happened at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday in the north-bound lanes of Interstate-135 at the exit ramp to Hydraulic.
A Pontiac Torrent was on I-135, as was a Hyundai Elantra, when the Pontiac rear-ended the Hyundai, then continued north-bound, crossing the lanes of traffic and hitting the inside barrier wall. The Pontiac crossed the lanes of traffic again, hitting the outside barrier wall in the construction zone, and finally coming to a stop on the highway taking up two lanes.
The driver in the Elantra who was hit was a 29-year-old woman from Wichita; she drove to the shoulder and parked the car.
The driver of the Pontiac was 39-year-old Jeffery Galbreath of Wichita; he died in the crash.
