The pilot of a single-engine plane escaped injury after a crash in Butler County Saturday morning.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the incident happened around 10 a.m., at the Augusta Municipal Airport. A 40-year-old Wichita man was the pilot of a 2023 Cessna Skyhawk, and during his 4th take off attempt the aircraft began to track towards the left side of the runway.

Despite his attempts to maintain centerline, the aircraft left the runway and entered into the snow area and came to rest inverted.
