Wichita Mayor Lily Wu has filed a response regarding an ethics complaint recently filed against her. The response follows the Ethics Review Board's recent finding that the mayor did not violate any ethics codes after a complaint from the firefighter's union.
The complaint pertains to a meeting between the mayor and fire chief Tammy Snow, regarding an expiring grant that would require 42 firefighters to be laid off by the end of next year. The mayor's response asks the ethics board to amend its ruling which noted some conflicting information, and requesting that the board thoroughly reviews all evidence. That includes an entire 43-minute conversation between Snow and Ted Bush, the president of the firefighters' union.
