Two more men died in gun homicides over the weekend in the Wichita area. Police Chief Joe Sullivan says a killing on North Piatt was "another senseless, needless act of gun violence." Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News violence is not a problem only for police. She says dealing with violence of all kinds begins in the homes, teaching respect, responsibility, and accountably." Wu says there are many non-profits in the community to help people who are "facing challenges."

At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will look at strengthening a City ordinance against illegal trash dumping. Mayor Wu says the fine will increase to at least $500 dollars and she would like to see more. The council will also discuss an ordinance punishing excessive noise and loud vehicles. Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
