The trial in the fatal case involving an Oklahoma truck driver accused of intentionally backing over another man at a N. .Wichita truck stop last summer is underway in Sedgwick County District Court.
47-year-old Travis Briscoe faces a charge of unintentional, but reckless second-degree murder. Briscoe pleaded “not guilty” to the charge stemming from the Aug. 13 incident in which a 57-year-old man from Georgia, Abdelmuttalib Mohammed, was killed.
Wichita police investigators determined there was a verbal altercation involving the two men, reportedly over a parking spot at the Love’s Travel Stop near 21st Street North & I-135.
Police said the two men did not know one another before the confrontation. Briscoe was arrested at the time, held on a $150,000 bond.
