A new Dillons grocery store is officially coming to an area in Wichita that's been growing for years.
Dillons broke ground Thursday morning on its new store near Kansas Highway 96 & Ridge Road in the northwest part of Wichita.
This will be Wichita's 16th Dillons location, and the first new store in 15 years.
The company said the new Marketplace signifies a capital investment in excess of $35 million. This project brings the total company investment in Wichita to $77 million during the past decade.
The new 99,000-square-foot store is expected to open next year.
