
The Wichita Police Department (WPD) has arrested a man, 54, in connection with a bank robbery that occurred on December 11, 2024, in the 7700 block of E. Kellogg.
At approximately 4:10 p.m. on December 11, officers responded to reports of a robbery at a local bank. Employees reported that an unknown male entered the bank and presented a note to a teller demanding money. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
On December 12, the Patrol East Community Policing Team, assisting the Robbery Section, located a vehicle connected to the suspect. During a traffic stop, robbery detectives and FBI agents gathered critical information about the suspect’s location.
The Property Crimes Reduction Team was contacted for assistance and, with support from the Vice Unit, identified the suspect in Derby. Detectives observed the individual walking away from a location and directed marked units to his position. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was arrested and booked on suspicion of one count of robbery of a financial institution.
