Wichita Police have arrested a 62-year-old Wichita man after two teens were shot Friday evening.
It happened around 10:35 p.m., in the 2300 block of North Broadway. When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old man who had been shot in the hand and torso by what appeared to be pellets from a shotgun. The man was taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
A second 17-year-old victim arrived later, and he also had been shot in the torso by pellets from a shotgun. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the two victims entered the Treatco plant property in the 2300 block of North Broadway when they were approached by Ken Thomas, who is the owner. Thomas fired multiple shots from a shotgun at the pair, striking them.
Officers located Thomas on the property. He was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of aggravated battery. Officers also recovered a shotgun.
The investigation is ongoing, and the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
